DESCRIPTION : <\/span>T<\/span>olfenamic<\/span> acid (N-[(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl) <\/span>anthranilic<\/span> acid) is a <\/span>nonsteroidal<\/span> anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), extremely potent; it belongs to the <\/span>fenamate<\/span> family just like the <\/span>meclofenamic<\/span> acid.It<\/span> has proven to be very effective against several diseases in ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats and <\/span>camelids<\/span>), horses and swine: mastitis, respiratory disorders, MMA syndrome (mastitis-<\/span>metritis<\/span>–<\/span>agalactia<\/span>), arthritis, <\/span>omphalectomy<\/span> (excision of the navel), among others. <\/span>Tolfenamic<\/span> acid carries out an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antitoxic and antipyretic action. Due to its extraordinary potency and its instructions for use, <\/span>Tolf\u00e9n<\/span> L.A. 8% adapts perfectly to the restrictions of the modern breeding.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

TARGET ANIMALS\/THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS<\/span><\/p>\n

Tolf\u00e9n<\/span> L.A. 8% can be used in cattle, sheep, goats, <\/span>camelids<\/span>, horses and swine. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION<\/span><\/p>\n

Cattle, sheep, goats, <\/span><\/u>camelids<\/span><\/u> and horses:<\/span><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

O <\/span>tolfenamic<\/span> acid is the only authorized <\/span>nonsteroidal<\/span> anti-inflammatory drug with a 48 hours action. It is usually administered 1 mL\/ 40 kg (2 mg\/kg). In mastitis and respiratory infection cases: a single dose of 1 mL\/ 40 kg of body weight (2mg\/kg) by intramuscular or slow <\/span>endovenous<\/span> route. The dosage will be effective for 48 hours. In case the infectious process continues it might be necessary a second dosage after 48 hours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If the <\/span>endovenous<\/span> route is used (in particular cases of very acute infections), apply a single dose of 1 mL\/ 20 kg (4 mg\/kg) or a 2 consecutive day treatment at a dosage of 1 mL\/40 kg (2 mg\/kg).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Swine:<\/span><\/u> a single dosage of 1 mL\/ 40 kg of body weight by deep intramuscular route in the neck muscle. When a considerable number of animals are being treated, the use of exchangeable needles is recommended.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Storage : <\/span>Keep in a dry and cool place, protected from light exposure. Store among 15\u00b0 to 30\u00b0 C.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Keep out of reach of children and domestic animals.<\/span><\/p>\n
